Ingredients

  • 1 - small bottle gourd.
  • Handful - roasted peanuts.
  • 3 - green chillies.
  • 2 tbsp - Channa dal.
  • 1/2 tsp -garlic-ginger paste.
  • 1/2 tsp - garam-masala powder.
  • Asafoetida - a pinch.
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch.
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds.
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard seed.
  • 2 tbsp - coriander leaves.
  • 1 tbsp - oil.
  • Salt to taste.
  • How to Make Peanuts-Lauki:

    1. Roast the peanuts and grind it along with green chillies and water into a smooth paste.
    2. Now heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard and cumin seeds.
    3. Add asafoetida, ground paste and fry for 3 mins.
    4. Then add cubes of bottle gourd, channa dal, garam-masala and salt to taste.
    5. Add 1.5 cup water and let it boil for 5-8 mins, till well cooked.
    6. Serve.
