Ingredients

  • 2 cups - basmati rice.
  • 4 cups - water.
  • 1 - onion, chopped.
  • 1 Capsicum - remove seeds and cut into thin strips.
  • 10 Cloves - garlic, chopped fine.
  • 1/2 cup - shelled peas.
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp - garam masala.
  • Salt to taste.
  • oil.
  • How to Make Peas rice:

    1. Wash and soak rice in water for 15 mins in a cooker.
    2. Heat oil and fry the garlic and onions till brown and add this to the rice in the cooker.
    3. Add the shelled peas, salt, garam masala and chilli powder.
    4. Mix gently and cook till rice is done.
    5. Serve the rice with fried capsicum strips and finely chopped fried carrots.
