2 cups - rice.
1 tbsp - toor dal.
2 - red chillies.
1 cup -
1 tsp - urad dal.
1 tsp - mustard seeds.
1/2 tbsp - oil.
Salt to taste.
How to Make Pidi Kozhukkatai
Put the dry rice and toor dal in the blender and coarsely grind it.
In a pan, put oil, urad dal, mustard seeds and red chillies. Fry them brown.
Add 3 cups of water, salt, hing, coconut flakes and curry leaves.
Once the water starts to boil, add the rice-dal mixture and mix them well.
Cover and keep aside for a few minutes.
Make into tiny balls and steam cook in the idli cooker in the same way as you cook idlis.
Serve them with mint chutney or onion chutney.
