Ingredients

  • Potato, medium size - 2
  • Poppy Seeds - 3 tbsp
  • Panchpuran (a mixture of cumin, coriander, fennel, Fenugreek and Onion seeds) - 1/2 tsp
  • Hot Chilli Pepper - 1, cut into small pieces
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Water - 1 cup
  • How to Make Plain Aloo Posto:

    1. Heat oil in a pan, put panchpuran.
    2. When panchpuran starts spluttering put potatoes and poppy seeds, turmeric powder and fry for 2 minutes.
    3. Add water, salt, chilli pieces and cover the pan and allow it to cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
    4. Serve with rice and dal.
