Ingredients

  • 3 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 5-6 Black Peppercorns
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 4 Cloves
  • How to Make Plain Garam Masala:

    1. Take all the ingredients and mix together.
    2. Heat ghee, add ingredients and roast on low flame till crisp and golden. It should give off a strong, spicy aroma. Let it cool.
    3. Pound to a coarse powder, either using a mortar and pestle or dry grind in a mixie.
    4. Use as required.
