  • 2 cups - Urad dal
  • 2 to 3 tbsp - Rice
  • 4-5 - Red chillies
  • 3-4 - Peppercorns
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch asafoetida
  • Curry leaves

How to Make Plain Instant Vadas

  • Dry grind all the ingredients coarsely.
  • Just before making the vadas, add water, a little at a time to get the right consistency for the batter.
  • Add salt to taste, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  • Make crisp vadas.
