Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - brinjal, slit
  • 1/2 cup - Coconut
  • 1 tsp - fennel
  • Ginger, a small piece
  • 3-4 - Garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli powder, to taste
  • 1 - onion, finely sliced
  • Cinnamon, a small piece

How to Make

  • Grind coconut, ginger, garlic, fennel and chilli powder to a smooth paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cinnamon and onions, and saute till onions turn pink.
  • Add slit brinjal and saute well.
  • Now add ground coconut to brinjal and a little water, and cook covered.
  • Serve with dosa or rice.
