Ingredients

  • 2 cups - sooji or semolina
  • 1 cup - Wheat flour
  • salt
  • 5 tsps - oil
  • whole black pepper Corns
  • oil for frying
  • How to Make Plain Mathri:

    1. Combine all ingredients except the oil for frying and knead into a stiff dough.
    2. Make small balls out of the dough and roll into small round pooris.
    3. Now, before frying, pierce each mathri with a fork several times. This is so that it does not fluff up when fried.
    4. Heat oil for frying and fry each mathri. Enjoy with pickle.
