  • 1 medium sized- Tomato
  • 1 small ball - Tamarind
  • 1.5 tsp - Rasam Powder
  • Salt
  • Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp- Mustard
  • 1 tsp - Vegetable Oil/ Ghee
  • Curry leaves- a few
  • Pinch of Hing
  • How to Make Plain Microwave Rasam:

    1. Take a small microwave safe bowl and add the vegetable oil/ghee and mustard and close with a lid.
    2. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes.
    3. Once the mustard splutters, add the curry leaves and hing and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Keep this seasoning aside.
    4. Now in a bigger bowl, add mashed tomatoes, tamarind juice, rasam powder and salt. Microwave this on high for 6 minutes.
    5. Add the seasoning with rasam and again microwave on high for 2 minutes.
    6. Serve hot.
