Ingredients

  • 5-6- medium sized potatoes, peeled and diced.
  • 1 -medium sized onion, diced.
  • 1 bunch each - carrots, celery, leeks, parsley.
  • 15g -butter/margarine/ghee.
  • 1 cup -milk.
  • 500ml - Chicken stock.
  • salt.
  • pepper.
  • cheddar cheese.

How to Make Plain Potato Soup

  • Saute onions and all the soup vegetables in some butter/ghee.
  • Add the diced potatoes to it.
  • Add the chicken stock to it and let it boil till all the vegetables are tender.
  • With a masher or a fork, mash all the potatoes and add milk to it.
  • Let it simmer for a good 45 mins.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot with cheddar cheese sprinkled over it.
  • Tastes good with some bread sticks.
