Ingredients

  • Large Prawns - 10.
  • Sliced Onion - 2.
  • Cream of Coconut - 1 cup.
  • green Cardamom - 2.
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch length.
  • Cloves - 2.
  • Paprika - 1/2 tsp.
  • Salt - 1 tsp.
  • Sugar - 1 tsp.
  • Clarified Butter or oil - 2 tbsp.
  • How to Make Plain Prawn Malai Curry:

    1. Rub prawns with half the salt and set aside.
    2. In a wok or deep pan, heat clarified butter.
    3. Add sliced onions, fry till translucent.
    4. Make a paste out of green cardamom, clove, cinnamon and water and add to the wok.
    5. Cook for couple of minutes over medium heat.
    6. Add the coconut cream, remaining salt, sugar, paprika and bring to boil.
    7. Add the prawns, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with steamed rice.
