Ingredients

  • 1 bunch - pudina.
  • 1 - onion.
  • 3 tbsp - til.
  • Tamarind - a small ball.
  • Salt to taste.
  • For seasonings:
  • 2 tbsp - oil.
  • 1/2 tbsp - rai.
  • 1/2 tbsp - jeera.
  • 1/2 tbsp - urad dal.
  • 3 - red chillies.
  • Few fresh curry leaves.

How to Make Plain Pudina chutney

  • Heat oil in a pan, add onions. When onions are brown, add pudina leaves and switch off the stove.
  • Grind the onions with tamarind, salt and a little water.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add urad dal, rai, jeera, red chillies.
  • When rai seeds pop, add curry leaves and turmeric powder. Stir.
  • Add the ground chutney.
  • Serve with khichidi or rice or use it to make a sandwich.
