  • 2 cups - Suji
  • 1 pinch - baking powder
  • 2 cups - buttermilk/curd
  • 1 or 2 tsp - vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Plain Rava Idli:

    1. Mix suji and buttermilk well.
    2. Add salt, baking powder and mix it (if needed add water). Leave the batter in a bowl for 4-6 hrs.
    3. Grease the idli moulds and spoon the batter into them.
    4. Heat water in the idli cooker.
    5. Steam cook for about 12-15 mins on high.
    6. Turn off the gas and leave it for 15-20 mins.
    7. Serve it with hot sambar or with chutney.
