Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Chicken (skinless)
  • 10 - Green chillies
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • Tomato Sauce/Puree - half cup
  • 2 tsp - soya sauce
  • 2 - Lemons
  • 2 tsp - Vinegar
  • 2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 pinch - food red colour
  • 5 Cloves - Garlic
  • Curry leaves
  • Garam Masala (optional)
  • 2 tbsp - ginger- Garlic paste
  • 2 tsp - Cashew nut paste
  • How to Make Plain Red Chicken:

    1. Clean and wash chicken pieces and put in a pan.
    2. Slit green chillies length-wise and add to chicken, also add ginger-garlic, lemon juice, vinegar, pepper, salt and turmeric.
    3. Put on a medium heat and cook until all the water evaporates and chicken becomes tender and soft.
    4. Add red chilli powder, soya sauce, garlic, cashew paste to the chicken. Saute well.
    5. Finally add tomato sauce and red colour, mix well.
    6. In another small pan heat the oil and pour the oil on chicken pieces, put the pan on sim until chicken pieces absorbs the oil. Add curry leaves and serve.
