  • Rice flour - 2 cup
  • roasted Urad powder - 2 tbsp, slightly heaped
  • Butter - 2 tsp
  • Chana Dal - 1 tsp
  • Thuvar Dal - 1 tsp
  • chilli powder - to taste
  • Salt - to taste

How to Make Plain Thattai

  • Soak channa dal and tuvar dal in water for 1 hour and drain.
  • Mix all the ingredients together. Add water and make soft dough.
  • Take lime sized balls of dough and shape into 1/8 inch thick discs on greased plastic sheet.
  • Deep fry in moderately hot oil till crisp. Cool and store.
