7 glasses water
7 medium-sized potatoes
5 to 6 tsp - red chilli powder (or as per taste)
5 tsp - coriander powder
5 medium-sized onions (very finely chopped)
4 tbsp - coriander leaves (finely chopped)
10 finely chopped green chillies (or as per taste)
2 tbsp - ginger-garlic paste
10 cloves - garlic
6 eggs (beaten)
150 to 200g - bread crumbs
oil for shallow frying
salt to taste
How to Make Pomfret Cutlets
Clean and wash the fish. Boil the fish in approximately 7 glasses of water with cloves of garlic till tender.
Remove the skin and bones and mash well.
Boil the potatoes and mash while still hot.
In a bowl, mix together mashed fish, mashed potatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder, ginger-garlic paste, finely chopped green chillies, onions, coriander leaves, and salt.
Let this mixture marinate for 2 to 3 hours.
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion in form of a cutlet.
Dip each cutlet in beaten egg and roll in bread crumbs.
Shallow-fry on a medium flame till golden on both sides.
Serve with French fries or potato chips and tomato ketchup.
