Add jaggery in a pan with 1/2 cup of water and when it dissolves, strain to remove sand.
Boil the jaggery water again along with coconut and keep stirring until the jaggery comes to a stone-like consistency - when a drop of jaggery syrup is dropped in water, it should not dissolve rather you should be able to roll it into a ball.
Now remove the jaggery from flame and add the Aval pori/Nell Pori and mix it well along with cardamom powder.
