Ingredients

  • 250 g - potatoes.
  • 2 tsp - peanut paste.
  • 2 tsp - til paste.
  • 2 - 3 tsp - tamarind pulp.
  • 1 tsp - cumin seed.
  • 2 - tej patta (bay leaf).
  • 1 stick - cinnamon.
  • 2 -4 - clove.
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp - ginger paste.
  • 1 tsp - garlic paste.
  • 4 tsp - oil.
  • salt.

How to Make Potato Badshah

  • Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes, wash and keep aside.
  • Fry peanut and til separately, and grind them into a fine paste separately.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the potatoes till it becomes golden brown.
  • In the same pan, add tej patta (bay leaf), garam masala (cinnamon and clove), cumin seeds and stir well.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and fry for a few minutes.
  • Now add ground peanut, til paste and 1/2 cup of water and stir properly.
  • Now add fried potatoes and stir well.
  • Then add tamarind pulp and salt to taste. Stir till oil separates.
  • Now add 1 cup of water. Cook it on low flame.
  • Remove from fire and garnish with grated coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with puris or parathas.
