Ingredients

  • 1 large - Onion.
  • 2 - tomatoes.
  • 4 to 5 - green chillies.
  • 2 to 3 spoons - Ginger+ Garlic paste.
  • 20 leaves - Pudina.
  • A pinch - Turmeric.
  • 3/4 or 1 cup - Prawn (peeled).
  • 1 cup - rice.
  • 1/2 - Lemon.
  • 2 - Cloves.
  • 1 - Bay leaf.
  • 2 - Elaichi.
  • Cinnamon - a small stick.
  • Butter - around 25 g.
  • oil for frying.
  • Coriander leaves - to garnish.
  • Salt as per taste.

How to Make Prawn Biriyani

  • Chop the onions, tomatoes and green chillies.
  • Heat oil, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and bay leaves.
  • Add the chopped onions, green chillies and cook till onion turns transparent.
  • Add the ginger - garlic paste and fry till the raw flavour is lost.
  • Add the tomatoes, pudina and fry for some time.
  • Then, add prawns and fry for few seconds.
  • Add turmeric powder and rice.
  • Mix well. Add 2 cups of water.
  • Add half a lemon's juice, salt and butter.
  • Microwave for 15 mins on full power ( adjust as per the power settings, this instruction is for 1 cup of rice for 800w microwave ).
  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
