Ingredients

  • 1 large - Onion.
  • 2 - tomatoes.
  • 4 to 5 - green chillies.
  • 2 to 3 spoons - Ginger+ Garlic paste.
  • 20 leaves - Pudina.
  • A pinch - Turmeric.
  • 3/4 or 1 cup - Prawn (peeled).
  • 1 cup - rice.
  • 1/2 - Lemon.
  • 2 - Cloves.
  • 1 - Bay leaf.
  • 2 - Elaichi.
  • Cinnamon - a small stick.
  • Butter - around 25 g.
  • oil for frying.
  • Coriander leaves - to garnish.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • How to Make Prawn Biriyani:

    1. Chop the onions, tomatoes and green chillies.
    2. Heat oil, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and bay leaves.
    3. Add the chopped onions, green chillies and cook till onion turns transparent.
    4. Add the ginger - garlic paste and fry till the raw flavour is lost.
    5. Add the tomatoes, pudina and fry for some time.
    6. Then, add prawns and fry for few seconds.
    7. Add turmeric powder and rice.
    8. Mix well. Add 2 cups of water.
    9. Add half a lemon's juice, salt and butter.
    10. Microwave for 15 mins on full power ( adjust as per the power settings, this instruction is for 1 cup of rice for 800w microwave ).
    11. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
