Ingredients

  • 1 cup - biriyani rice.
  • Coconut milk to grind the rice.
  • .
  • For filling:
  • 500 g - prawns.
  • 3-4 - onions.
  • 1 tsp each - ginger and garlic.
  • 3 - green chillies.
  • 1 - tomato.
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder.
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder.
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder.
  • Curry leaves, coriander leaves.

How to Make Prawn cake

  • Soak the rice for 4 to 5 hours. Grind with coconut milk. Add salt.
  • Fry prawns with chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Keep aside.
  • In a pan, heat oil add onions.
  • Saute till soft.
  • Add ginger, garlic, green chilli and saute till the raw smells goes.
  • Now add tomatoes and spice powders.
  • Mix well and add the leaves and fried prawns.
  • Allow to cool.
  • In a steamer (appachembu), grease a plate.
  • Add a spoon of rice batter, cook covered.
  • When it is done, spread the prawns filling and add the rice batter.
  • Repeat till end.
