  • 500 grams - cleaned and deveined prawns.
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds.
  • 2 green chillies, slit.
  • 1 tsp - Garlic paste.
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste.
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped.
  • 2 onions, sliced finely.
  • 1 tsp - spice powder or Garam Masala powder.
  • 1 tsp - pepper powder.
  • 3 tbsp - oil.
  • Salt to taste.
  • How to Make Prawn Jalfrezie:

    1. Heat oil in a suitable pan and add the cumin seeds.
    2. When they begin to splutter, add the onions and fry till golden brown.
    3. Add the prawns and stir fry for a few minutes till they change colour.
    4. Now add all the other ingredients, a little water and stir well.
    5. Simmer on low heat till the prawns are cooked and the gravy is thick.
    6. Serve with rice, chapattis or bread.
