Ingredients

  • 1 - big sized cabbage, chopped nicely
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 pinch - cumin seeds
  • 250 gm - prawns, shells removed and cleaned nicely
  • 2-3 - green chillies
  • 2 tsp - garam masala
  • Oil for frying (mustard oil is preferable)

How to Make Prawns and cabbage saute

  • Marinate the prawns in turmeric powder, salt and ginger-garlic paste for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated prawns in it.
  • The prawns should be cooked till they are soft.
  • Remove the prawns and keep aside.
  • The cabbage should be chopped finely.
  • Heat oil in a container and add cumin seeds, garam masala and ginger-garlic paste.
  • Add the cabbage and cook it in low flame for 15 minutes till the vegetable releases water and reduces in volume.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt as per taste.
  • Add the already cooked prawns to it and mix well with the help of a spatula.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water to the mixture and cook for 5 minutes till the water dries up and the flavour of the prawns mixes well with the cabbage.
  • Garnish with slit green chillies.
