Ingredients

  • 2 - potatoes, medium size
  • 3 tbsp - poppy seeds soaked in water and ground into a fine paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Panchpuran (a mixture of cumin, coriander, fennel, fenugreek and onion seeds)
  • 1 - hot chilli pepper, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 1 cup - water

How to Make Quick Aloo Posto

  • Heat oil in a pan (kadai), put panchpuran.
  • When panchpuran starts spluttering put potatoes and poppy seeds paste, turmeric powder and fry it for two minutes.
  • Add water, salt, chilli pieces and put a cover on the pan and allow it to cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Serve with rice and dal.
