Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Beetroot
  • 1.5 litre - Milk
  • 500 gm - Sugar
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Saffron - a few flakes
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee
  • How to Make Quick Beetroot halwa:

    1. Peel and grate beetroot.
    2. Boil milk and beetroot in a heavy saucepan till thick, stirring occasionally.
    3. Once it starts thickening, stir continuously.
    4. Add sugar and cook further till it thickens.
    5. Add ghee, cardamom, saffron and colour.
    6. Stir on low heat till the mixture collects in a soft ball or the ghee starts to separate.
    7. Serve hot, decorated with a chopped almond or pista.
