Ingredients

  • 2 cups - basmati Rice
  • 1 cup - chopped vegetables (potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, capsicum, broccoli, beans and pealed green peas)
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 handful - Mint leaves, chopped finely
  • 1 - green chilli, slit vertically
  • 1 tbsp. Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 - Bay Leaves
  • 1 inch piece - Cinnamon stick
  • 2 - Cloves
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Quick Biriyani

  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon and cloves.
  • Saute for a while and add the chopped onions and the slit green chilli.
  • Fry until onions are golden brown.
  • Wash rice and soak for about 15 mins.
  • Add the soaked rice to the fried onions in the cooker and fry for 2 mins till the dampness goes.
  • Then add the vegetables, salt, chilli powder, garam masala powder and the chopped mint leaves with 4 cups of water and mix well.
  • Cook till done, mix well, serve.
