  • 1 cup - Urad Dal
  • 1 cup - Channa dal - 1/2 cup
  • 1/4 cup - white til or sesame seeds
  • 20 - Red Chillies whole
  • 1/4 cup - groundnuts
  • Salt to taste
  • a Lemon size ball - Tamarind
  • How to Make Quick Chutneys:

    1. Dry roast all the ingredients one by one (except salt and tamarind).
    2. Grind to a coarse powder with salt and tamarind and keep in an airtight container.
    3. To make any vegetable chutney (for example tomato and onion chutney), take 2 tomatoes and 2 onions, chop them fine and fry them in a tbsp of oil.
    4. Cool this and grind to a fine paste with a little water.
    5. Add to the paste one or two tsps of the chutney powder, mix and use (add a little more salt according to the amount of vegetables used).
