Mix the first 5 ingredients in a heavy bottomed pan. Keep it on stove and keep stirring. When it begins to thicken add butter a little at a time. Add cardamom powder and keep stirring until it begins to look like a soft mass.
Turn off the heat and roll the mass on a greased board with a greased rolling pin (until desired thickness is achieved)
Cut them into diamond shapes.
