Ingredients

  • Raagi Flour - 2 cups
  • Curds - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 2 (medium size)
  • Green chillies - 6 or as per taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste.
  • Urad Dal - 1 tsp
  • Gram dal - 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Coconut grated - 1/2 cup
  • Fresh Coriander leaves & Curry leaves
  • How to Make Raagi Upma:

    1. Mix raagi flour, salt, sugar, and curds in a bowl (Mixing is very important: Don't make it like a paste. It should be like a wet powder). Keep aside.
    2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds when it splutters, add urad dal, gram dal, curry leaves.
    3. When dals become red, add sliced onions and chillies, fry it till onion becomes red.
    4. Add mixed raagi powder into it and constantly keep stirring on a low heat.
    5. Then add grated coconut and coriander leaves, mix well again.
    6. After everything is cooked remove from the stove.
    7. Serve hot.
