Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Masoor dhal (red gram dhal)
  • 4 -Long white radish, peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 2 tsp - Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp - Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Cumin powder
  • 2 - Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tsp - Crushed Garlic (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • For the seasoning:
  • 1 tsp - Mustard
  • 2 - Red Chillies broken into small pieces
  • 10-12- Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp - Oil.
  • How to Make Radish And Masoor Dhal:

    1. Wash the dhal and cook it along with the tomato, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and radish with sufficient water in a pressure cooker up to 2-3 whistles.
    2. Then add salt and some more water and mix it well.
    3. Now heat oil in a pan and splutter the mustard, broken red chillies and crushed garlic.
    4. Add this to the cooked dhal and mix well.
    5. Serve with rice.
