  • 1/3 cup - Ghee
  • 2 tbsp - Raisins
  • 2 tbsp - Cashew nuts
  • 1 cup - semolina (rawa)
  • 2.5 cups - water
  • 1 to 1.5 cup - Sugar
  • a little - Orange food colour
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • How to Make Rava Kesari:

    1. Heat 2 tbsp of ghee, fry raisins and cashew nuts, drain and reserve.
    2. Add semolina to the remaining ghee and roast till pale brown.
    3. Transfer to a plate.
    4. Boil water in the same kadai. Lower the flame and add semolina little at a time stirring well so that no lumps are formed.
    5. Cook for 5 minutes.
    6. Add sugar.
    7. When the sugar is dissolved, add the remaining ghee, little at a time and cook stirring till the mixture forms a thick lump.
    8. Add colour, mix well and transfer to a serving dish.
    9. Garnish with fried raisins and cashew nuts..
