Ingredients

  • 4 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 3 - Cloves
  • 2 pieces - Cinnamon
  • 3 - green chillies, slit
  • a few - Curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup - onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup - carrot, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup - beans, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup - tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup - whole Wheat Rawa
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 2 - coriander leaves, chopped
  • How to Make Rawa Kichidi:

    1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
    2. Season with mustard, cloves, cinnamon, green chillies and curry leaves.
    3. Add onion and saute till onions are pale brown.
    4. Add carrots, beans and 1/2 cup water.
    5. Cook covered till the vegetables are tender but crunchy.
    6. Add tomato, turmeric powder and 2.5 cup of water.
    7. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes.
    8. Add rawa and salt.
    9. Cook covered ill the water is absorbed.
    10. Serve hot, garnished with coriander leaves.
