  • 1 cup - basmati rice, cooked
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 cup - red cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 5 strands - Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - black gram
  • 2 tbsp - powdered mung beans
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • How to Make Red Cabbage Paruppupodi Rice:

    1. Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, black gram.
    2. To this add onions, curry leaves and cook until the onions turns translucent.
    3. Add the red cabbage pieces along with red chilli powder and coriander powder with enough salt.
    4. Cover and cook the vegetables for a while.
    5. Add the mung beans powder to the cooked red cabbage.
    6. Toss the cooked cabbage, stir fry with the cooked rice and serve hot.
