Ingredients

  • Besan - 3 tbsps (mix well in 1 cup of water)
  • 2 medium-sized Potatoes (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 medium-sized Tomato (cut into small pieces)
  • 2 big Onions (cut into small pieces)
  • Black gram Dal - 1 tbsp
  • Urad Dal - 1 tsp
  • Rai - 1 tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli - 1
  • Green chillies - 4 (chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Tamarind juice - 1/2 cup
  • Oil - 2 tbsps
  • Coriander leaves - a few (chopped)
  • Water - 2 cups

How to Make

  • Keep a pan on the stove and put oil in it.
  • When it is hot, put rai, jeera, black gram dal, urad dal, red chilli, and fry for a minute.
  • When the colour changes, put green chillies and onion and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Then, add tomato and fry for a minute.
  • After this, add potato and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Then, add water and keep the lid and allow it to cook for 10 minutes.
  • When the potatoes are cooked well, add tamarind juice, besan water and mix well.
  • Then put salt, chilli powder and coriander leaves.
  • Cook for 5 minutes till the besan is done.
  • This can also be had with rotis.
