  • saboodana ( tapioca )- 1 cup
  • peanuts, roasted- 1/3 cup
  • chopped green chillis( add more if you like spicy)-2
  • cumin seeds( jeera)- 1/4 tsp
  • ghee : 1 tsp
  • oil : 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste

How to Make Saboodana Khichadi

  • Soaking Saboodana : This is the only time-consuming part of this dish. So, you can soak larger quantities and keep them deep frozen. Thaw a cupful when needed.
  • Pour Saboodana in a large deep bowl.
  • Add sufficient water. Let it stand for 10 minutes. Drain all water. Keep it aside for 3-4 hours.
  • Saboodana will become soft to its core, and it will be dry and loose to handle.
  • Preparing The Dish :
  • Chop peanuts into coarse grains. Mix it with saboodana.
  • In a frying pan, heat oil. Add cumin and chopped green chillies.
  • Add Saboodana and peanut mixture. Add salt to taste. Stir well.
  • Add ghee, stir and serve.
