saboodana ( tapioca )- 1 cup
peanuts, roasted- 1/3 cup
chopped green chillis( add more if you like spicy)-2
cumin seeds( jeera)- 1/4 tsp
: 1 tsp
oil : 1 tbsp
salt to taste
How to Make Saboodana Khichadi
Soaking Saboodana : This is the only time-consuming part of this dish. So, you can soak larger quantities and keep them deep frozen. Thaw a cupful when needed.
Pour Saboodana in a large deep bowl.
Add sufficient water. Let it stand for 10 minutes. Drain all water. Keep it aside for 3-4 hours.
Saboodana will become soft to its core, and it will be dry and loose to handle.
Preparing The Dish :
Chop peanuts into coarse grains. Mix it with saboodana.
In a frying pan, heat oil. Add cumin and chopped green chillies.
Add Saboodana and peanut mixture. Add salt to taste. Stir well.
Add ghee, stir and serve.
