Ingredients

  • 1 - onion, sliced
  • Green chillies - deseeded
  • 1 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp - Peanuts
  • 1.5 tbsp - sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp - dried Coconut
  • 1/4 cup - yogurt
  • 1 sprig - Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - Tamarind pulp
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • How to Make Salan mirch ka:

    1. Dry roast the peanuts, add the sesame seeds and coconut, warm and remove from flame. Set aside to cool and powder
    2. Add 1 tsp oil to a pan and fry the onions till golden brown, add ginger-garlic paste and saute quickly.
    3. Once cool, add this to the powdered peanut mix and grind smooth
    4. In the same pan, saute the chillies on a high flame to get an aroma, set aside
    5. Heat oil in the same pan, splutter cumin and mustard
    6. Add the ground mix, salt, turmeric and chilli powder
    7. Pour in enough water and yogurt
    8. When it begins to boil, add the tamarind juice or paste
    9. Add garam masala and let it cook for around 5 to 8 mins
    10. Add in the fried chillies and cook for a while and serve.
