Ingredients

  • 1 - onion, sliced
  • Green chillies - deseeded
  • 1 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp - peanuts
  • 1.5 tbsp - sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp - dried coconut
  • 1/4 cup - yogurt
  • 1 sprig - curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - mustard
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - tamarind pulp
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 1 tbsp - oil

How to Make Salan mirch ka

  • Dry roast the peanuts, add the sesame seeds and coconut, warm and remove from flame. Set aside to cool and powder
  • Add 1 tsp oil to a pan and fry the onions till golden brown, add ginger-garlic paste and saute quickly.
  • Once cool, add this to the powdered peanut mix and grind smooth
  • In the same pan, saute the chillies on a high flame to get an aroma, set aside
  • Heat oil in the same pan, splutter cumin and mustard
  • Add the ground mix, salt, turmeric and chilli powder
  • Pour in enough water and yogurt
  • When it begins to boil, add the tamarind juice or paste
  • Add garam masala and let it cook for around 5 to 8 mins
  • Add in the fried chillies and cook for a while and serve.
