Ingredients

  • Salsify 200 gram
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic crushed 2 cloves
  • Chili paste ½ tsp
  • Fresh coriander paste 1tsp
  • Cooking oil to fry.
  • Corn flour
  • Water
  • Bread crumbs

How to Make Salsify Cakes

  • Boil salsify till its soft enough.
  • Peel it. And Mash it to make a tikki dough
  • Add the crushed garlic, Coriander paste, and chilli paste to the mashed salsify.
  • Add salt to taste. Mix all the ingredients together.
  • Make around 6 to 7 small portions of the above dough in the shape of the tikki or cakes.
  • Make slurry of corn flour and water.
  • Dip the cakes into the slurry and coat it with bread crumbs.
  • Heat the oil till it’s hot enough to fry.
  • Fry the crumbed cakes till golden brown in colour.
  • Serving suggestion: to be served hot with Mayonnaise or Tomato ketchup.
