  • 1 litre - Milk
  • 1/2 cup - Curd
  • 2 slices - well drained canned Pineapple slices
  • 3 tbsp - Sugar
  • How to Make Sandesh Diyas:

    1. Boil milk and add the beaten curds.
    2. When the milk curdles remove from fire and sieve through a muslin cloth.
    3. Hold cloth securely, wash it in running water.
    4. Press out excess water gently.
    5. Transfer soft cheese into a pan.
    6. Add sugar, heat very lightly, till sugar melts.
    7. Take off fire, cool for a while.
    8. Grind this in a mixer till it turns smooth.
    9. Transfer into a plate.
    10. Grind coarsely drained pineapple pieces.
    11. Press out excess liquid and add to the soft cheese.
    12. Mix well, chill till stiff, shape into solid diya shapes.
    13. Use a hollow mould if required.
    14. Paint to highlight with food colour if desired.
    15. Chill well, store in closed container in refrigerator.
