Ingredients

  • 1 cup - grated Coconut
  • 2 tsp - Asafoetida
  • 1/2 cup - Toor Dal (soaked for about an hour)
  • Tamarind - small marble size
  • 15 - red chillies, fried in oil
  • 1 cup - idli rava
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Sanna Khotto:

    1. Dry roast grated coconut till it becomes golden in colour.
    2. Then grind coconut, asafoetida, red chillies, tamarind and salt. Keep it aside.
    3. Grind tuvar dal really fine and mix it to the previously ground paste.
    4. Then add idli rava to this paste and mix.
    5. Add water and bring it to idli consistency.
    6. Steam it in an idli cooker for 10 mins let it cool.
    7. Serve.
