Ingredients

  • 1 cup - grated Coconut
  • 2 tsp - Asafoetida
  • 1/2 cup - Toor Dal (soaked for about an hour)
  • Tamarind - small marble size
  • 15 - red chillies, fried in oil
  • 1 cup - idli rava
  • salt to taste

How to Make Sanna Khotto

  • Dry roast grated coconut till it becomes golden in colour.
  • Then grind coconut, asafoetida, red chillies, tamarind and salt. Keep it aside.
  • Grind tuvar dal really fine and mix it to the previously ground paste.
  • Then add idli rava to this paste and mix.
  • Add water and bring it to idli consistency.
  • Steam it in an idli cooker for 10 mins let it cool.
  • Serve.
