Ingredients

  • Raw Rice - 1/2 kg
  • Boiled Rice - 1/2 kg
  • Black gram (urad) dal - 100 g
  • Dry yeast - 1 tsp
  • salt - to taste
  • How to Make Sanna:

    1. Wash and soak both the rice and dal together for 4-6 hours. Grind to a smooth batter as for idlis.
    2. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water.
    3. After 15 mins, add it to the batter.
    4. Let the batter ferment and rise for about 2 hours.
    5. Pour the batter in greased katoris and steam for 15 mins.
    6. Cool for 5 mins and ease them out of katoris.
