Ingredients

  • 1 cup - vermicelli noodles
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 cup - condensed Milk
  • 1 tbsp - custard powder, dissolved in some warm Milk
  • 3 to 4 cups - whole milk, diluted with 1-2 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp - Raisins
  • 1 tbsp - halved cashew nuts, dry roasted
  • 1 tsp - crushed Cardamoms
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar

How to Make Seviyan

  • Fry the vermicelli in ghee till it turns brown in colour.
  • Put vermicelli to milk and boil it until the vermicelli is completely done.
  • Add the custard powder and keep stirring.
  • Add the condensed milk, sugar, raisins and the nuts and stir till the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens.
  • Add the cardamom.
  • Serve hot or chilled.
