Ingredients

  • Mango - 4-5
  • Sugar or Jaggery - as per taste
  • Cardamom powder (optional) - a big pinch
  • Saffron strands (optional) - a few
  • Milk (optional) - as needed
  • Fig - 2-3
  • Almond - 5-7
  • Raisin - 8-10
  • Pistachio flakes - from 6 to 7
  • How to Make Shahi Aamrus:

    1. Wash the mangoes, peel and chop them into small pieces.
    2. Blend the mango pieces in a blender. Add saffron strands and sugar or jaggery.
    3. Add a little milk if you prefer.
    4. Microwave the figs and raisins in a little water for less than 10 seconds to make them softer. Drain or squeeze out the water.
    5. Chop the figs into small cubes or slices and keep aside.
    6. Chop the almonds and pistachios.
    7. Add all the dry fruits in the aamras along with a pinch of cardamom powder or saffron strands.
    8. Pour the mango pulp into small bowls. Chill in the refrigerator.
    9. Served topped with cream or along with vanilla ice cream or hot pooris.
