Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Lentils stock
  • 10 - Shallots chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp - Rasam powder
  • 1 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp - Asafoetida powder
  • 2 - Dry Red Chillies
  • 3 - Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves chopped
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • How to Make Shallot N Lentils Rasam:

    1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, curry leaves, asafoetida powder and let them crack.
    2. Add the chopped shallots and stir them until they turn translucent.
    3. Mix rasam powder with enough salt to the cooked lentils water.
    4. Add this spiced lentils water to the already cooked shallots and boil.
    5. Then turn off the stove.
    6. Add the lemon juice, chopped coriander leaves.
