Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups - milk
  • 2 cups - sugar
  • 3.5 cups - maida
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 3/4 cup - ghee
  • Oil to fry

How to Make Shankar Pali

  • Mix ghee, sugar and milk in a pan and heat it till the sugar melts and the mixture starts boiling.
  • Turn the heat off as soon as the mixture starts boiling. Let the mixture cool down.
  • Mix maida into the mixture and keep adding it till you get a nice, stiff dough (the consistency of the dough should be such that you can roll it).
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Divide the dough in equal parts, roll it into rotis (not too thin).
  • Cut it with a knife into small squares.
  • Fry in oil, on medium heat, till you get a light brown colour.
  • Serve these nice crispy, crunchy shankarpali with tea.
