  • 1 packet - Shavage or Vermicelli
  • Ghee
  • 1 litre - Milk
  • 5 tsp - Sugar
  • 2 - Elaichi
  • 10 gm - Kaju or Cashew
  • 10 gm - Raisins
  • 10 gm - Badam or Almond

How to Make Shavge Payasam

  • Break the vermicelli to small pieces and fry in ghee until it dark brown. Once it cools, take a some cool milk and add the vermicelli to it. See to that clusters are not formed.
  • Then heat it on a low flame, slowly adding the rest of the milk while continuously stirring. Bring it to a boil.
  • After you bring it off the heat, add sugar and stir it in.
  • Add powdered elaichi at this stage. Saute or fry almonds, raisins, cashews in ghee and add them to the payasam.
