  • 1 packet - Shavage or Vermicelli
  • Ghee
  • 1 litre - Milk
  • 5 tsp - Sugar
  • 2 - Elaichi
  • 10 gm - Kaju or Cashew
  • 10 gm - Raisins
  • 10 gm - Badam or Almond
  • How to Make Shavge Payasam:

    1. Break the vermicelli to small pieces and fry in ghee until it dark brown. Once it cools, take a some cool milk and add the vermicelli to it. See to that clusters are not formed.
    2. Then heat it on a low flame, slowly adding the rest of the milk while continuously stirring. Bring it to a boil.
    3. After you bring it off the heat, add sugar and stir it in.
    4. Add powdered elaichi at this stage. Saute or fry almonds, raisins, cashews in ghee and add them to the payasam.
