Ingredients

  • 200 g - Flour
  • 150 g - Butter
  • 50 g - Sugar
  • 2 tsp - Powdered sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of baking powder

How to Make Short Bread Biscuits

  • Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together into a bowl.
  • Rub in the butter till the mixture looks like bread crumbs.
  • Add the sugar and knead till a smooth ball of dough is formed (do not add any water).
  • Roll out the dough to about 2 cm thickness with a rolling pin.
  • Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and place the rolled out dough on it.
  • Crimp the edges with the back of a fork and prick the dough all over.
  • Sprinkle powdered sugar.
  • Bake in a slow oven for about 45 mins.
  • Remove when baked and cut into squares.
