  • 5 medium sized potatoes
  • 5 to 6 green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 5 bread slices
  • 2 to 3 tbsp - oil (for making the tikkis)
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste

How to Make Simple Aloo Tikki

  • Boil the potatoes and mash them when still hot.
  • Dry grind the bread slices. In a bowl mix together mashed potatoes, bread, green chillies and salt.
  • Mix well to make a smooth dough.
  • Divide the dough into small equal portions.
  • Apply little oil on the palm of our hand.
  • Shape each portion in to round shaped tikkis but slightly flattened.
  • Repeat with the remaining portions.
  • Deep-fry in hot oil till golden.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
