Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - chicken
  • 1/2 kg - basmati rice
  • 1 cup - mint and coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 - onion, sliced
  • 4 to 5 - green chillies
  • 1 - lemon, small
  • 4 - cinnamon, small pieces
  • 4 - cardamom
  • 1.5 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • salt to taste
  • 4 - clove

How to Make Simple Chicken Biriyani

  • Wash chicken and marinate with lemon and a little bit of salt. Heat oil or ghee.
  • Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and onion.
  • Fry till brown in colour.
  • Add ginger garlic paste.
  • Add chicken pieces and fry for 2 mins. Add soaked rice. Mix well.
  • Add salt. Cover and cook till done.
  • Add mint and chopped coriander on top.
  • Mix well and serve with raitha.
