  • 1 lb pomfret, cut into one inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp Ginger and Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds, powdered
  • 1 tsp white Cumin seeds
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil as required
  • How to Make Simple Pakistani Style Fish curry:

    1. Cut and wash fish thoroughly. Rub salt in it and leave it to marinate for 15 mins.
    2. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet and fry the fish on medium heat for a minute on both sides. Keep aside.
    3. In the remaining oil, add cumin seeds.
    4. Once they start spluttering, add ginger and garlic paste.
    5. Cook for 2 mins and add half a cup of water, stirring constantly until it turns brown.
    6. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Fry the mixture well.
    7. Then add curd, a little at a time, and keep stirring until you get a thick consistency.
    8. Add fish pieces now to the curry, along with a little water, and let it simmer in low heat until the fish is fully cooked.
    9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
    10. Serve hot with rice.
