Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Sago (saboodhana)
  • 1/2 cup - Peanuts (roasted and crushed coarsely)
  • 1 - potato, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2 tsp - chillies sauce
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep frying
  • a pinch - Saffron colour (optional)
  • How to Make Simple Saboodhana Vada:

    1. Wash and soak saboodhana with 1.5 cups of water for 2-3 hours.
    2. Mix all ingredients together, except oil. Mix well and keep aside for 1 hour.
    3. Make patties or cutlet shapes with the dough and deep fry over a low flame.
    4. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
