Ingredients

  • 1 kg - mutton chops
  • 5 medium sized onions (finely chopped)
  • 5 medium sized tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 6 green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 1.5 tsp - ginger- garlic paste
  • 2.5 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 3 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 5 green cardamoms (peeled)
  • 1 black cardamom (peeled)
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 stick - cinnamon
  • 2 to 3 bay leaves
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 tbsp - curds
  • 6 to 7 tbsp - oil
  • sufficient water to cook the mutton
  • finely chopped coriander leaves ( to garnish)
  • salt to taste

How to Make Sindhi Mutton

  • Clean and wash the mutton chops.
  • In a heavy bottom vessel, lightly heat oil.
  • Add the onions, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, cardamoms and bay leaves.
  • Fry the onions on a low flame till golden.
  • Add the mutton chops and salt.
  • Cook on a low flame till the water from the mutton dries.
  • Add the tomatoes and the powdered masalas.
  • Add curds and saute on a low flame till oil separates.
  • Add sufficient water and cook on a low flame till the mutton pieces are tender.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with zeera rice, rotis and onion slices.
